As you learn to write, reading comes for free, it goes without saying, that if you can write, you can read, but the same is not true the other way around.
Learn to Write Thai has the following features:
Each Thai letter has its own animated path, simply watch the green dot and follow it with your finger in the sandbox area under the main letter.
Your Android device will tirelessly teach you how to write each letter!
There are 9 consonant lessons and each lesson is grouped by letter complexity, not alphabetical order which is the traditional method.
As the lessons progress, they get harder (by letter complexity), that means you learn the easy ones first, in logical order.
This aids letter memory retention and speeds the process of learning considerably compared with traditional “Learn by Rote” methods.
Lesson 9 also contains the 2 unused consonants, they are in lesson 9 not because of their complexity but because they are no longer used.
They are Kor Kuad and Kor Kon.
Vowels have their own lesson section, as they are probably the hardest part of learning to write Thai. (The Vowels section is only available in the paid version of the App)
In this section, the lessons are grouped by sounds and vowel groups rather than by complexity.
We suggest completing most of the consonant lessons before moving on to vowels.
Writing Exam.
Another completely unique feature of this App is the Exam section.
Having completed a lesson to the point where you can draw the letter without having to follow the animation, you can move on to the exam for that lesson.
The exam tests you more frequently on the letters you get wrong, this again aids retention and speeds the process of learning considerably.
Reading Exam.
This exam shows you the Thai letter, the object of the exam is to correctly identify the letter sound and its name.
As with the writing exam, you are tested more frequently on the letters you get wrong.
